Applying to study in the UK

Ready to apply? This is what you need to do…

You need to supply us with certain documents to obtain a student visa.read our detailed guidance INF 29 Tier 4 (General) Student and (Child) Student to make sure you understand exactly what you need to do.

In short, to apply for a student visa you will need to:

• Submit the correct paper application form and points scoring appendix or if making an online application select the correct visa category and then complete the paper points scoring appendix
• Pay the correct fee
• Have the required amount of maintenance based on the length and location of your course as detailed in the guidance.
• Produse a Visa Letter from your education provider. This must contain all the mandatory information as required in the guidance. Without all of these, your application will be refused.

• First check if you can make your application online. Click here to find out if our online application system is available in your country. your application online and make an appointment at the appropriate visa application centre to have your biometric details taken.
• If you cannot use the online system locate your nearest visa application centre and make an appointment to submit your paper application and have your biometric details taken.

False documents:

It is better to explain why you do not have a document than to submit a false document with an application.Applicants will be automatically refused and may be banned from coming to the UK for 10 years if they use a false document, lie or withhold relevant information. may also be banned if they have breached immigration laws in the UK.

Travellers to the UK who produce a false travel document or passport to the UK immigration authorities for themselves and/or their children are committing an offence. People found guilty of this offence face up to two years in prison or a fine (or both).
