In recognition of the expansion our community has witnessed over the years and the growing increase in demand for Maghrebi goods and services from interior to property, we have decided to create a bilingual directory befitting the great culture our region represents; a directory that seeks to meet our community's expectations and aspirations.

Whether you are established or new to the world of business, BMD is indispensable considering its unique format. It is inspired by years of experience of working and living within the community. We pride ourselves on our intimate knowledge and understanding of both cultures and see ourselves as the best placed to fulfil this role.

The unprecedented appeal of the Maghreb to Maghrebi expatriates in the UK and non-Maghrebi alike, both as a holiday and investment destination, has prompted us to act in a bid to facilitate communication and, therefore, promote trade.

Although the Maghreb is only a short flight from the UK, lack of material in English has often discouraged if not alienated potential British investors, including those of Maghrebi descent.

Our sizeable community in the UK, approximately 150.000 in the greater London area alone, is teeming with highly skilled and enterprising people, a wealth of resources that is often underused in the absence of a networking mechanism such as BMD.

As a community-based company, we acknowledge our social responsibilities. This is why; we have set up a number of community initiatives such as forums and documentaries. We are confident that this initiative will contribute to the following:

• Increase employability and generate wealth within the community,
• Alleviate the sense of isolation, especially amongst those living outside Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster,
• Foster stronger bonds within the community,
• Facilitate business and trade between the two countries by providing easy access to key information and simplifying the relevant procedures, from land registry to setting up one's company both in the Maghreb and in the UK,
• Raise the profile of Maghrebi goods and services,
• Facilitate communication between the community and the relevant service providers,
• Increase educational achievement amongst Maghrebi children,
• Provide our community in the UK with a plat-form to network and exchange ideas through a wide range of forums,
• Facilitate integration by making key information easily accessible to the community.
